NICHOLAS M. BROWN, JR. JOINS Q.KNOW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

RESTON, Va. – January 11, 2005 – Q.Know Technologies Inc., a global provider of information management software, announced today that Nicholas M. Brown, Jr. has joined Q.Know’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Brown is the retired executive vice president of XL Capital Ltd (NYSE: XL), where he also served as chief executive officer of XL’s global insurance operations. In 1999, Mr. Brown joined XL Capital upon its merger with NAC Re Corp., where he was president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining NAC Re in 1996, Mr. Brown was with The St. Paul Companies, where he was chief operating officer of St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. Mr. Brown began his insurance career at Aetna, where he held several senior positions.

Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors of Cybersettle, InsuranceVianet and Vocational Foundation, Inc. He is chairman of the advisory board of Adaptik Corp. and is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
